Nothing OS 3.0 beta program has been announced by Nothing based on Android 15. Users can enroll in this Open Beta program to try all new updates brought by the company in its beta program.
But, since this is a beta, so users should expect bugs and stability issues during its use. The stable release of Nothing OS 3.0 which is based on Android 15 is expected in December, 2024.
For now, the Open Beta is available for the Nothing Phone 2a, while the Phone 2 will get in November, and the Phone 1, Phone 2a Plus, and the CMF Phone 1 will get in December.
For getting Open Beta, users first need to download the Nothing Offline OTA Update APK, then after they can check the option of beta update in their system settings. As this is a beta release which is unstable and contains bugs, so company has warned users to back up their data before installing the update.
What new features will be seen in Nothing OS 3.0 beta update?
As the new Nothing update is based on Android 15, some specific changes can be seen like- upgraded lock screen clock faces, enhanced pop-up view, and improved camera performance. Some of the features of new update of Nothing are-
Lock screen:
- You can access the new lock screen customization page by long-pressing the lock screen.
- There will be upgraded clock faces from which you can choose your favorite style.
- More widgets can be placed on the lock screen with the help of new expanded widget space.
Smart Drawer:
- New AI-powered Smart Drawer feature has been introduced which will help you to automatically categorize your apps into folders for easy access and better organization.
- Also, no need to scroll as you can pin your favorite apps at the top of the app drawer.
Camera improvement:
- Faster camera launch speed.
- Optimized portrait effects.
- Low-light camera performance improvement.
Other improvements:
- For free-up storage space , auto-archive function support has been added.
- Partial screen sharing feature in which you can record only an app window rather than the entire screen.
- Updated setup wizard to version 3.0.
- New fingerprint animation with signature dot matrix styling.
As new beta update of Nothing 3.0 is available to download, users with Nothing Phone 2a can download it, but it is advisable to users that as beta is an unstable version so they should wait for the stable release to download instead of downloading beta update on their daily driver.
