OpenAI’s Advanced Voice Mode has been launched for all ChatGPT Plus and Team subscribers this week, but it seems that the launch won’t happen in the EU.
On twitter, a tweet published by OpenAI that states, ‘Advanced Voice is not yet available in the EU, the UK, Switzerland, Iceland, Norway, and Liechtenstein. “The reason might be because of the EU AI act, but when it was asked from OpenAI, it is denied by OpenAI by saying that EU AI act has not been enacted yet, and “ an additional external reviews is required by some parts of the world before launching new products. This is a common practice to ensure the feature aligns with local requirements. These can take a little time. We hope to share an update soon.”

The launch of Advanced Voice mode has been seen for ChatGPT Plus, Enterprise, Teams and Edu subscribers in the UK. Europe Teams, Enterprise and Edu are also get available for the new launch, only Europe ChatGPT Plus rollout is yet to come.
Advanced Voice Mode of ChatGPT:
By using this new Advanced Voice Mode feature of ChatGPT on smartphones, users will be able to have real-time conversation and get responses which gives feeling like they are having conversation with a human.
GPT-4o LLM is being used by Advanced Voice mode for responding fast and it can interpret text, vision, and audio inputs. For example- you can command it to do something and give opinion like you can ask it to look at something with camera and give opinion about it.
Also, the new Advanced Voice Mode has received some updates and improvements as it is compared with the first alpha version. Now users can enjoy benefits of nine new voices including- Arbor, Maple, Sol, Spruce, and Vale, and there’s a new blue orb visual effect as it talks.
The roll out of Advanced Voice Mode is gradual but it will be finished till end of the week. This is available only to ChatGPT Plus and Teams subscribers, so if subscribed users see a pop-up message next to the entry point to Voice mode, it means they have received this new feature.
But OpenAI’s Advanced Voice Mode is not available in the EU yet, we hope that very soon it will get available for EU users as well.
