The new One UI 6 update based on Wear OS 5 has been rolled out to older Galaxy watches by Samsung. After showcasing the features and potential of the new OS for the new Galaxy Watch7 and Watch Ultra, Samsung decided to introduce it to older watches as well.

    One UI 6 Update

The new version of OS brings an updated UI, plus new health tracking features like Sleep Apnea detection and new exercise modes to boot in Galaxy watches.

List of Galaxy watches eligible for One UI 6 update:

Here is the list of Galaxy Watch models that are eligible for the new upgrade. Watch6 series will receive the rollout first and then expand to older models.

    • Samsung Galaxy Watch6
    • Samsung Galaxy Watch6 Classic
    • Samsung Galaxy Watch5
    • Samsung Galaxy Watch5 Pro
    • Samsung Galaxy Watch4
    • Samsung Galaxy Watch4 Classic
    • Samsung Galaxy Watch FE

    Features of One UI 6:

New health tracking features like the ‘Sleep Arena detection’ feature introduced by the new version of OS have received De Novo authorization from the FDA.

Sleep metrics of users wearing watches will be tracked by an AI algorithm that mainly looks at users’ movement during sleep, sleep latency, and heart and respiratory rates.

Also, a new version of OS will help watches calculate an Energy Score based on sleep, activity, and more.

Race mode can be enabled by users while doing exercises like running and cycling that allow users to compare their current performance against past ones. A personal workout routine can also be built using it.

The new version of OS has brought new watch faces from simple, minimalist ones that are rich in stats like the Info Board. Replies for incoming messages will also be suggested by AI.

Also, your smartwatch would be able to answer calls, dismiss alarms, take photos, and more by using Double Pinch Gestures, when it is connected to your Galaxy device.
