Google Maps AI features powered by Gemini is coming soon as Google has announced about these incoming updates on Thursday.
The motto of bringing Gemini into Maps is to ensure that its navigation app is the best to compete with Apple Maps and other navigation startups.

Google has introduced loads of AI-powered features to Google Maps by bringing Gemini into Maps to enhance user experience in navigation.
Google Maps AI features powered by Gemini includes-
- After the new update, users can easily get ideas for places to go and things to do by simply asking the service from Google Maps . For ex- users can ask Google Maps for “things to do with friends at night.” Gemini will make sorted list of things to do.
- Users can get AI-powered review summaries of any place or place that Gemini recommended to know what people have thought about the place to help them in planning their trips.
These two new AI-powered features are rolling out in the US on Android and Google has planned to bring an experience of “AI-powered review summaries” and the “option to ask questions about places” to Search engine.

Navigation features include-
- After new update, Google maps will display lanes, crosswalks, and road signs clearly on the map which will help users to drive in unfamiliar areas with multiple lanes, forks, and exits.
- Google Maps will also display top landmarks, attractions, scenic spots, and dining options once users enter to their destination.
- In today’s time, the big issue is of parking at any destination. Well, Google Maps will help in that also. It will show you nearby parking lots to your destination and also remind you to save your parking space so you don’t forget where you left your car.
- Also, users will be able to see and report weather disruptions on the road, such as flooded, unplowed, and low-visibility areas through Google Maps.
- A new “Immersive View” feature has also been announced by Google which will create a 3D model of a destination, and is expanding to 150 cities globally. The feature will be launched in Brussels, Kyoto, and Frankfurt, among other new locations.
Hence, these are the new features which have been introduced to Google Maps by Google to enhance and modify the navigation experience of users in every aspects. Introducing Gemini to Google Maps is really an innovative step taken by Google.
