In this article, you will get to know “How to Automate Android Phones” to make it even smarter. Your smartphones can do a lot for you, more than your expectations. The only thing is you should know how to make it do.

The Android operating system is very impressive; it includes hundreds of features to explore and has vast room for tweaks and customization. But most of the users don’t know how to take advantage of it to the fullest.

Users are only stuck with manually doing repetitive tasks daily that they would expect a smart device to do automatically. Yes, your smartphone can do anything for you; you only need to automate your phone, and it’s all set to do anything whatever you command it to do. And for all these things to be done, there is a role of automation apps that can take care of these tasks. You can automate your Android device by using automation apps.

How to Automate your Android phones

Automation has turned smartphones into a smarter and more powerful tool. With the right apps and settings, you can automate your Android smartphone to perform multiple tasks, from turning off Wi-Fi when you leave home to reminding you to take medication at a specific time, and more.

Here are the steps of how to automate Android phones:

    • The first thing to do to automate your phone is to download an automation app. There are several great options available. The ‘Tasker’ app is one of the popular and powerful automation apps to start with. But if you are new to automation and don’t want to spend much money, there are more options.
    • After downloading the automation app, you can create a task, which is a sequence of actions your smartphone will perform automatically. Tasks like turning off the phone’s ringer and vibration when you connect to your office Wi-Fi network, dimming display brightness every night and increasing it every morning, and many more can be created.
    • Then you can set up triggers; triggers are events that activate your task. For example, a trigger can be created that activates your task when you leave your home Wi-Fi network.
    • After that, you can set up actions for your smartphone that will automatically be performed when a trigger is activated. Multiple actions can be added for a single task, like turning off Wi-Fi, lowering screen brightness, and opening a specific app. For example, an action can be created that can open your favorite music app and start playing your playlist once you plug in your headphones.

    Best Automation Apps for Android:

There are a lot of paid and free automation apps to start your automation journey. Some of the automation apps are as follows:

This is one of the most powerful and original automation apps. You can automate anything using this app from downloading files and sending emails to automatically backing up important files. Also, its extendability is through third-party plugins.

You can also create sharable, standalone apps using its App Factory feature that others can install even without having Tasker themselves.

    Cons:

    • It is only available as a paid app
    • Its UX/UI design is sometimes difficult to use.

    IFTTT

This automation app is one of the most recognized apps in the Android automation space. It is not only limited to the functionalities of the Android OS but can also talk to your smart home appliances or even inform you when the International Space Station passes over your home.

    • It has a steep learning curve.

    MacroDroid

Again, one of the most popular and largest Android-specific automation tools is here. Its features and mode of operation are similar to Tasker, but MacroDroid is more intuitive and easier to use.
