Today, Google announces Android 4.1 aka Jelly Bean, the next flavour of its mobile operating system.Dubbed Jelly Bean, the new of version of Android comes with a new user interface, and some major improvement in performance, notifications, Android Beam, Text Input, camera app and more .
Jelly Bean New Features :
Smarter Home Screen Management :
Better animations are also included in the new OS version, along with better CPU management, for increased response. Users can resize widgets on the homescreen, and can also remove them by simply flicking them off the screen.
Keyboard and voice input
The keyboard is also improved in Android 4.1 with better and more accurate predictive text input and extended dictionary. Google announced that voice input would no longer require an internet connection i.e. Voice Typing in now available offline.
Notifications
The new notification bar shows you a more prominent looking clock and allows notifications from various apps like Google Music, Reader and Gmail to be expanded to give you more details without having to open the app.
Camera
The camera app was updated as well, Android 4.1 aka jelly bean brings new camera UI and gestures, so you can swipe sideways to access the gallery. You can then quickly delete images by swiping them off the screen.
Availability
Android 4.1 aka Jelly Bean will be available mid-July with a developer SDK preview available right now on the Android Developers website
